Purchased: June 28, 2016Expected/Actual Arrival: July 5, 2016I was so happy when I was able to get the actual book instead of reading it online. This is a great series and after I watched the anime I immediately checked if there was a manga about it and I was very happy to see that there was. This is one of my favorite series because the person who actually made Haikyuu!! Was into horror and comedy making this volume have funny parts and turning around to have a more ‘scary’ part. I would recommend this to anybody who loves comedy because it is almost full of it, people who have seen the anime, and people who like volleyball in general.

Haikyuu!! is amazing. I'm fully caught up with Haikyuu!! as I read chapters as they are released every week. The manga starts off slow but gets better and better and better. I can't really think of a way to describe how good the manga is, it's better in my opinion than the anime, you definitely pick up more details than in the anime. The anime excels in other ways but I'll leave that up to you to find out. If you're on the fence about sports manga in general, I encourage you to try Haikyuu!! regardless, I too was in a similar position but I have changed my mind these past few months.

Came 2 days earlier than expected! This series is a lot of fun--the characters are all interesting and you really grow to like and respect them. Before getting into this series, I wasn't particularly interested in volleyball (or sports in general), nor did I know a single thing about it. I believe that goes to show that the story itself and characters really pull you in, even if you have no prior knowledge of volleyball, like myself! Plus there's plenty of laughs along the way, this is easily one of the most lighthearted, funniest manga I've read, which can be a nice release at times. I'm very excited for the release of the next few volumes, and am happy to support this series!

The volume came in perfect shape, not bent or ruined in the delivery process. I preordered this volume and got it on the release date as well. The volume itself is a great read, something I definitely recommend. The story plot wise is written in a way that gets the reader into the story, wanting to find out more about the characters and the team as a whole. Haikyuu!! is a 10/10 recommend from me for anyone who loves team spirit and volleyball.

I was so happy to see that Haikyu!! was going to be serialized in the US. It's got to be one of the best sports mangas I've ever read! It's light, and really gives those good feeling feels.

The story is very interesting and straight to the point. The characters are all unique and likeable.

The author preliminarily addresses his book to young people starting their first business ever; hence, he sprinkles it with a lot of basic common-sense business advice. His paternalistic tone can be a little annoying sometimes to readers with some business experience. On the other hand, the author provides comprehensive insight into the fundraising process, with many helpful details, which made reading the book worthwhile.Obviously, one may ask why the fundraising for a startup became so complicated, and does it have to be this way? Mr. Cremades does not have this kind of seditious thoughts.The problem is not with founders not dancing properly around angel investors as Mr. Cremades assumes. The problem is with angel investors who do not have perseverance in hunting for the business opportunities before they reach the stage where it is a no-brainer to see it.The full text of my review is on my blog.

I recommend this book to all those who are just beginning in the world of startups, regardless of whether they are students or business people. In a few pages, it helps to understand the investor’s vision, to determine the steps to follow and to know what to do and what not to do. With just a few dollars and a few hours of reading, you will be saving time and money you would otherwise spend on consultants, which you will now be able to allocate to your ideas and business. Also, a special mention goes to Bárbara Corcoran’s foreword – a real gem. I have already printed and put in a frame on my desk the phrase “I knew the secret to growing a business fast is to never wait until you're ready”. I just hope that investors like this approach to businesses.

As a former corporate VP that’s taken the plunge into the world of co-founding a start-up, I found The Art of Startup Fundraising to be a great overview of the capital raising process. If you haven’t had prior start-up experience, the fundraising process can appear highly daunting and a long road of trial and error if you lack the right game plan. Alejandro has laid out a clear, insightful roadmap for how to successfully travel down the path of fundraising your new venture.The book covers a lot of ground on key topics such as: why you should raise capital, how to craft your pitch, how to identify and solicit investors, and how to close investment deals. However, the book doesn’t go as deep into some areas that would be beneficial. For example, given that convertible notes are becoming a common method for early stage start-up investment from friends & family and angels, it would be nice to see a more detailed explanation of this approach. Perhaps a pros/cons of raising investment using straight equity financing versus convertible note debt financing (or the new SAFE note approach advocated by Y-Combinator and briefly touched on in the book) would be useful for many here.I also like that Alejandro gets into the psychology of investing; what gets a lead investor on board first and the group mentality that can follow with momentum of both the business and the investments raised.Overall the book was a practical and enlightening read and I am using it as the “fundraising handbook” for our start-up. I have tabbed pages with my notes all over the margins that I’m going back to for reference. I also found the book inspirational and motivational – I am now confident that I indeed am capable of getting out there and successfully fundraising for my start-up!

This book is fine to read, however, it should be made clear that it is just an overview with limited substance.For example, the author writes "Try to keep terms as attractive as possible for you and your investors". Indeed, it is a good piece of advice, but what does it really mean? If you want to learn more substance on this subject, read Brad Feld's "Venture Deals".

I am in the startup space and will soon be seeking capital. I have read several books that discuss how to best go about doing this. Several things make Alejandro Cremades' book stand out for me: 1) It's written in very simple and conversational language, it's very easy to follow (other books in this space tend to sound dry and technical, they don't hold one's attention as well); 2) The type size is nice and big -- again, easier to read; 3) The book is very practical, it is filled with good advice to take -- and mistakes to avoid; 4) The book talks a lot about "the people factor" involved in fundraising (it's not just numbers and pitch decks); and 5) I felt like the author was a friend who truly wanted me to succeed (I never felt like he was lecturing me, or telling me how HE did it). I genuinely enjoyed this book and will surely turn back to it in coming months.

Alejandro's experience-based guide to startup fundraising provides both concrete steps and insights into what captures the interest, imagination AND money specific to "startups". Let's face it. At the end of the day a founder needs a checklist of the most important documents, pitch approaches, and team building insights to successfully differentiate their ideas, products and services from the next guy or gal. If you are a startup founder seeking funding, this is a must read. As a former founder, small business advisor, and financial planner, I found this to be value packed and relevant. I have forwarded this on to the startup founders that I currently advise for and we are applying many of the concepts and processes within its pages. Nice work!

Cremades's Art of Startup Fundraising is a direct-to-the-point no-fluff guide for early-stage entrepreneurs, initiating their search for capital. Seldom have I found as much direct, concise and actionable advise and tools. It's a short easy-read that I would recommend to anyone that's entertaining the idea of starting a business or full-on initiating the capital raising process.

Before I read this book I felt a bit lost in all the diverse and sometimes conflicting information available on this topic. While I'm more than willing to draw on conventional medical approaches if that's what it takes eventually to conceive, I want to go in knowing that I have already tried everything possible through diet, supplements, stress management, and elimination of toxins to maximize fertility, to maximize the effectiveness of conventional medical treatments, and to ensure a heathy pregnancy and baby. Dr. Maizes puts all this information in one place, providing clear explanations, tons of practical advice, and many links to other helpful resources along the way. She writes with compassion, enthusiasm, and, most importantly, expert authority. She analyzes the available scientific research critically and draws on vast clinical experience, both her own and that of her community of practitioners. While the focus is very much on approaches to health that are usually ignored in conventional medicine, she also does a great job of explaining what the conventional approaches to infertility are and how to go about deciding when and how to use them. I really enjoyed the chapter on Traditional Chinese Medicine; it's a topic I knew little about and had kind of dismissed until now. The ones on Ayurveda and spirituality were a bit beyond my personal comfort zone, but I think it was good for me to be challenged in this respect.I think every woman (and man -- yes, there's a lot of stuff in here for the gentlemen as well) should buy this book if you're planning a pregnancy, whether or not you've experienced difficulty conceiving. Many of the recommendations go well beyond fertility and are also helpful for women who are already pregnant or really anybody who wants to improve their health. No health care provider has the time to give you the depth of information contained in this book. Thank you to Dr. Maizes for writing it and to my nutritionist for recommending it to me.

This is an incredible and comprehensive book which is written with both expertise and compassion. I highly suggest that every woman who is preparing to conceive a child and/or who struggles with infertility purchase this book. So, I bought this book on a whim, since it was on sale. I love the Kindle and Kindle app, but I tend to buy sale ebooks (max $5) … I just keep it cheap if I can’t have a physical copy to hold and love and flip through. There are exceptions to that silly little personal rule, but not many.All I can say is that I loved it! Halpern’s dad is a real character and his analogies and the lessons he teaches his son are colorful, to say the least. I laughed until I cried multiple times and my poor wife had to listen to me repeat quote after quote … out of earshot of my kids, of course. The book is definitely Rated R for the volume of cursing.This doesn’t bother me, but I’m throwing it out there out of respect for those who it may turn off.I really enjoyed getting to know the Halpern family. And, that’s really how I felt … as if I got to peek inside their lives. No family is perfect, and I enjoyed the honesty and quirkiness.Kudos to Halpern–great book!

I couldn't put this down. If you are offended by language, the title of the book should tell you what you're getting into, but this is some of the funniest stuff I've ever read. Justin Halpern is downright hilarious and has sarcasm and charisma oozing from his words as he retells more stories about his dad and his own life than I have in my entire family. It's almost hard to believe that it's all true, but I sorta hope it is, and he swears it is. I would randomly send quotes from this book to my friends and they'd laugh hard without even understanding where it came from. Once I explained where I got the quotes, they all went and read the book and all have said they've loved it (which is weird since my friends rarely read). Read the descriptions of the book and you get that on every. single. page. He makes fun of himself as much as he talks about his dad, and it's awesome. I can't recommend it enough!

Even funnier if you know or knew someone like Dad. I had the luck to know a man like him; he was my best friend's father. He told you the truth in no uncertain terms, usually in language he learned in the Navy. I could hear Gene's voice throughout this book, and feel my heart swell up missing him. Justin Halpern's Dad is the most laugh-inducing, hard-swearing, truth-telling guy you'll ever laugh until you cry over. You might not approve of his language but you're going to appreciate his honesty, how he is there for his family, and his blunt way of telling you what he thinks of everything. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Sh#t My Dad Says was a fairly quick enjoyable read. It was great getting to know the author and most importantly his father. Although what glares at you first is Mr. Halpem Sr and is his command of colorful language it is quick to see through to the man and his love for his son. I could relate to for Justin and being the youngest of much older siblings. You tend to be an afterthought of two tired parents. But they unbeknownst to you have you in their range. Their love hasn't diminished just their enthusiasm for raising kids. Funny and thoughtful at the time. I look forward to reading Justin's other book.

Sh*t my Dad Says was so fun, I read this book in two days. Accessible, relatable, and absolutely hilarious, the book chronicles highlights from the author’s life though his father’s unusual, typically vulgar viewpoint. There are brief shorts and quippy vignettes, which makes this a great book to read during limited available reading periods. Well-written, poignant, and entertaining, there’s not much to say other than growing up with this dad must have been a riot.

Ha!This book is hilarious. I loved it.The author details his life in a refreshingly open and honest way, while keeping the hilarious sayings his dad comes up with at the fore.And his dad's sayings are... AWESOME! Brutal honesty mixed with plenty of foul language makes for some hilarious one-liners. But, once you get a little deeper into the book and understand how much the dad loves his boy, the funny sayings take on a weird sweetness that I just can't explain.I'm an old crusty, 43 year old dude with great hair and a thing for bacon, but as I read this book, I pictured myself at the same age as the author in each of the stories, and wished my dad had been as brutally honest with me as his was with him. Man, the trouble a little honesty would have saved me!The book is very short, not sure of the page count, but the actual book is small in size and not very long. Which is unfortunate, I could read Halpern's stuff all day long. I read it in one short sitting and immediately wanted more.In fact, I pre-ordered his follow-up effort "I Suck At Girls" before I got up from reading the book. It's that funny. The good news is, the second book was as good as the first!Thanks, Halperns! You guys are awesome.Now, how do I shower my boys (three and five) with the same brutal honesty I admired so much in this book without my wife bouncing a skillet off my skull?

Some how I happened to find Amazon's "Free Kindle for PC", curiosity got the best of me so I checked it out. I'm Soooo Happy I did!! There was a list of all kinds of books to choose from! Since I haven't read a book in I don't know how many years, I wanted to start out light and funny!! Let me tell you, after reading the first few pages of "Sh*t My Dad Says," I was hooked!!! This book provided me with a million laughs....I actually sat here reading and laughing out loud, (so hard at times) I almost wet my pants!!! Mr. Halpern wrote about the things his dad said to him as he was growing up and I could actually picture this little boy and his reactions!!! I think everyone can identify with Mr. Halpern, we've all been told things by our fathers. This book recaptures the relationship from child to adulthood and is Out of this World Funny!! I really Enjoyed the book and I fell in love with the author!!! I would Definitely Recommend "Sh*t My Dad Says" to Anyone who Wants or Needs to Laugh!!!
