As a practice Management coach, I consider myself to be always learning from others. Whether it’s a good book, a new practice or a colleague, I gain perspective, knowledge and tools from multiple resources. This book has it all and so much more for every position in Dentistry! Just because you’re not a dentist, doesn’t mean you can’t pick this book up, it truly is for everyone.

Great read. Good for all the players on your team. Laura Hatch has done it again. She not only has trained my entire team through her online training but this book is a gem for each post in the office.

Not very informative... I didn’t learn anything new.

I've read business books and self help books, many of which are full of fluff and feel good sayings. This was not that book! Laura Hatch just gets it! She understands what it takes to coordinate and empower a team to reach results. As a business owner, it's not up to me to complete every task - but to hire the right people, share my goals and communicate, then let them do their jobs and oversee the practice. I love that once I finished the book, Laura doesn't say "Now, Go!" - she provides another step on her website with the book guide. I have steps to follow, a guide for my team. This book is a total game changer. If you've been following Laura on Facebook, you know what's she's about, and see the pearls she shares. This book is your go-to launching pad for building a successful dental practice. You cannot afford to miss this.

This book is great at shining a light onto areas that need full focus from the business owner. There are key factors to being a good business owner and Laura does a nice job of explaining them. Not only that but she shows you how easy it is to get started with being a good leader. All positions in the office are reviewed and she gives practical suggestions on how to measure their performance.Running a practice is overwhelming but she does a great job of laying it all out so you can take baby steps. The 360 Degree Leader is a great book for anyone that feels "caught in the middle" of any organization or bureaucratic infrastructure. But instead of twiddling his or her thumbs about it, uses this position to work for them and the organization as a whole.By leading in 360 degree, a leader must be capable to adapt to both the lower and upper planes of his or her position in the organization. This means the leader must be able to gain the respect of the people that works below his or her level in the organization's hiearchy but also in-tuned enough with the organizaton's vision to be able to influence people of the upper echelon (i.e management). For example, if you work in sales of a manufacturing company, you must be able to adapt to the "lower" hierarchy of the company, such as people that work in the assembly line, or janitorial duties. Yet you must also be in-tuned to be able to communicate to the upper management without intimidation, to the point where upper managements value your inputs and view you as an asset.Maxwell does a swell job on explaining how to achieve this. As a matter of fact, he is very detailed on how to achieve this.However, the ideas expressed in this book is not much different than from his other books, such as "Winning with People", "Developing the Leader Inside You", "17 Laws of Leadership", "17 Laws Indisputable of Teamwork" and "25 Ways to Win with People", just to name a few. It seems more or less "recycled".But like any book of leadership influence, it's all in the reader's character and personality. How you apply the concepts taught in this book, the tone you use, and the approach you take makes a lot of different. To be able to influence anyone more or less lead them, the audience you are trying to lead must be willing to accept you as their leader. If they are not willing to accept you as a leader, you may as well be talking to a wall.

Let's face it, even on the bottom we aren't alone and leading at the bottom is still leading. Hello - I am a senior IT manager for a large fortune 500 company. I'm not the top boss but I'm also not the entry level manager either. I got this book because I wanted exactly what the name of this book said, to be a 360 degree leader. I must tell you when I read through it, I felt like John wrote chapters and sections of this book specifically for me. Literally some of the challenges I was going through were written out in this book. Timing wise it was spot on, content amazing and so applicable to work, home etc. I have recommended this book to some of my managers that report to me, but also to leaders above me. Every manager, team lead, director, VP, CEO should read this book and apply its truths. To learn how to lead as a 360 degree leader is a very powerful thing. Strongly recommend.
