I would have given this five stars but for a few nitpicking instances where the lyrics differed slightly from the sheet music in my collection of rare American songs circa 1890s-1920, but ---this is, as I said nitpicking. It might be that the authors were taking the lyrics as they heard them rather than as they appeared in print. I only found three cases anyhow and the sense of the song was not altered.I was pleased to find a wide range of topics, not just the usual lovelorn man/woman singing the virtues of his mate, or pining away from unrequited love. One small criticism. One of my favorites, Down in Jungle Town (1908) is characterized as a monkey song that is racist in that it analogizes African-Americans with the wild simians.I didn't get this impression at all. To me it was one of the many "monkey craze" songs of the period around 1907-1920, in which the songwriters thought it would be "cute" to endow the critters with human pretensions. Not that there weren't plenty of racist songs during that period---many of which the authors amply illustrate.I especially enjoyed the Jewish-themed song selection in which Jewish songwriters poked fun at their own roots. No doubt many of these songs were enjoyed by some anti-Semites as confirming their stereotypes.All in all this collection, conveniently arranged on a year-by-year basis, is great casual browsing and provides food for thought--- or song.

The pictures are cute and the numbers are pretty clear but the paint is dried out and unusable. Fortunately I have my own paint to make it work.

Very disappointed, received in a timely manner, yet numbers 3 and 8 were dried out so I could not use the set and had to return it..

The paints were dried out and not usable. Super sad, I was looking forward to this for so long :(

Paints are either very thick and globby or complete dried out. Paint number 3 is completely hardened. Very annoying.

I'm really liking this fun set. It is a complete set with everything you need included, along with 5 heavy-posterboard-backed “canvases” for stills from Alice in Wonderland, Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp, Snow White and Pinocchio. The key upgrade for coloring-book fans is that some color mixing is required — although amounts of each color to mix into the proper tint is included. The mixing guide is simple and easy to follow, and a great way to learn how to make your own paint colors, for this or future projects. They also have a storybook is included which retells the stories from the classic films, highlighting each painted moment. Since each image was animated (i.e., painted) to begin with, with straightforward instructions helping along the way, I've been able to get a pretty accurate version of each film’s scene.

I bought this as a present, but a few of the colors were hard and they didn’t mix to make the correct shades. It worked, but it didn’t turn out all that great.
