This is the seventh book in the Wings of Fire series by Sutherland. The eighth book will be titled Escaping Peril and is expected to release in January 2016. I really enjoyed this installment in the Wings of Fire series; this series just keeps getting better and better.Winter leaves the school at Jade Mountain to find his sister Icicle and save his brother Hailstorm. His fellow dragonettes decide to accompany him. Their journey takes them to the RainWing Kingdom and beyond; eventually they end up confronting Queen Scarlet yet again.I really enjoy this middle grade adventure fantasy series about dragons and friendship. My son got me reading this series and it took me a while to warm up to it, but now I am hooked.In this book we really get to know the next generation of dragons a lot better. Of course Winter is the focus of the story and it was nice to get insight into this moody and short-tempered dragon. We learn a lot about Winter’s background and he definitely has some trust issues to work through. Moon is in the story a lot as well, as are Qibli, and Kinkajou. All of the dragons have distinct and amusing personalities.We do still get to see what the original five dragonettes are up to. It was a lot of fun to see the progress those original five are making in bringing the dragon clans together and trying to recover from the decades long war. It’s definitely a challenge but they seem to be up to it. I also loved the little cameo by Squid, he is hilarious; I hope he features in a future book.The main story here is definitely Winter retrieving Hailstorm and facing his family’s continued disappointment in him. However, there is still a looming side story about a great danger coming from the skies. Additionally we are seeing more and more of the Scavengers (humans) as the story progresses.Overall I really enjoyed this book in the Wings of Fire series; I think it was my favorite one so far. This series has been full of wonderful middle grade fantasy adventures. I love that the characters are building such solid friendships and that in the more recent books the adult dragons are working with the dragonettes to forge a peaceful dragon nation. I will definitely continue reading this series and highly recommend this to fantasy fans; especially the middle grade age set.

Interesting first look into how Icewings are, from one of their own, that we didn't get in the first 5 books. Finished it in only two days and I can't wait for the next one, though I'm upset it's not from Kinkajou's or Qibli's perspective (I really hope there is one from Qibli's perspective in the future because he's my favorite of the dragonets :) ). I loved the author's take on Winter and how over time he learns dragons from other tribes really aren't as bad as the Icewings think them to be. I thought Winter's crush on Moon, who's a Nightwing which are the sworn enemies of Icewings based on a lie, was adorable and really helped him see all Nightwings aren't bad. Overall I thought this book was great and I'm actually pretty sad there won't be any other books in Winter's viewpoint :(

My niece was so excited to get this book! She loves the series because it is unique, intriguing and exciting. She gets into the characters and it's been her favorite book series yet. In fact, we pre-ordered this one on Amazon before it was available because she was so excited. She's 2/3 through and loving it. I definitely recommend this series. Yes I'm over 40 and love this series. I love buying my kids books and reading them first. Winter isn't the most likeable Dragon but as we go through the book he discovers that the Icewings arent the end all, be all dragons...and that other types of dragons are just as rich in history, beauty and knowledge as the Icewings. Very good book. Read it in a day. My son is ten and I'm planning on letting him start this series in a year or two more. I just think some stuff he wouldn't get yet. Highly recommend.

Tui good job!I read all the books including Legends:Darkstalker and all the Winglets already,and I have a few predictions about book 10,but before we get to it,let me explain some of the critical events that led to those predictions:1)The release of Foeslayer and the thoughts about how Onyx wants to be queen of the world in book 7.2)Dragons with gold BIRD medallions buying dragonflame cacti in book 8.3)Darkstalker mistakening Turtle as Fathom,dragons with gold BIRD medallions(possibly the same ones who hadbeen buying dragonflame cacti in book 8),SeaWing students on an overnight trip being haunted by the ghost of ALBATROSS,and the death of Queen Glacier in book 9.4)Darkstalker and ALBATROSS both being stopped by Fathom in Legends:DarkstalkerAlright,now time to get to the predictions:First,there will be civil war in the Ice Kingdom,as Queen Glacier is dead,but not killed by any of the heirs.Second,Albatross will appear in some way,as the dragons that set off dragonflame cacti in the Kingdom of Sand has gold BIRD medallions that resemble Albatross,since an albatross is a type of a large bird,and the SeaWing students are haunted by Albatross' ghost.Also,the part where Darkstalker mistakes Turtle for Fathom means Albatross will seek revenge on Turtle too,since Turtle looks like Fathom,and is also an animus.Third,Qibli will use the dragon finding coral that be burrowed from Turtle(The descirption of book 10 says that Qibli used the animus objects that he burrowed from Turtle to give his talons the power to make a difference)to find Foeslayer,which disappeared in book 8,and then reunite her with Darkstalker,and then he gets like less evil,and releases Turtle from the dungeons,then Anemone enchants Turtle to be an animus again,and he stops Darkstalker with animus powers.Well...this is the longest review that I've ever wrote,soooo I guess thats it...Bye.p.s.Qibli's my fav character,so thx for making him the protangonist and PoV of the last book in the series!

This is a very poor quality paperback, with a cover that looks pixelated. It's very short, basically a pamphlet. Despite the short length, the information density was scant (like when you were in high school and stretched a two page report into five pages by messing with font size and spacing). Pages were unnumbered, and contained no headings, which just gives a cheap vibe.The writing was... odd. Not the subject matter, but the style. It was like someone transcribed an unscripted podcast. The authentic spends a ton of time explaining how they can't include certain explanations. A bulky chunk of this book is just phrases like "I don't have enough room in this book to cover this material." along with very simple points. Nearly every page has at least one spelling, typographical, grammar, or formatting error. Any interesting information is overshadowed by the poor presentation.

Gave it three and that's generous. This is not a book it's a pamphlet wich I read in about two hours. The reading is very light and just the same stuff Wikipedia has. Author also admits to borrowing prayers that are modern and invented by imagination therefore nullifying any real ancient knowledge. Mainly conjection no real magic and the rituals seem juvinial at best.

I am a fan of Baal Kadmon's work - for me, he keeps the rituals simple yet powerfully effective, and he is not afraid to throw a little humor in there. The "Adam threw a hissy fit' section of the story of Lilith made me laugh out loud. As serious as a ritual is, I think a little brevity is just fine - if we cannot sometimes have a little laugh about, well, everything...what's the point?Anyway, if you are considering working with Lilith, this is the perfect book for the beginner. Even though I have only tried one, I am new at this and did my best, I am not really sure what came out of it, but I will try again. I have Baal Kadmon's brainwave entrainment to help work with the entities, and just purchased his incredibly inexpensive mediation course. Anything he offers, from books to mp3's are incredibly fairly priced, and packed full of information. SO glad I found this author.

Very little good info on Lilith, printing is awful. It reads like an unedited, poorly written high school report....

Excellent book written about one of the most unknown characters in our vocabulary. We've heard the name but know little about this intriguing character. This book is a good start to learn more, for those who wish to learn.

For an intro book, I found this to be quite helpful. Further more, I liked the opening prayer. Eloquent, and simple.

Finally a book that doesn't make Lilith an evil being but misunderstood and chastised for wanting to have a partnership and not be a slave to the will of another

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. The Ballast ARE 5.0 review manual and associated practice problems and practice exams are absolutely terrible. They're FULL of editing mistakes, spelling errors, missing words, and erroneous information. The Practice Exams and Practice Problems books are full of terribly worded questions, questions that don't apply to the topics covered by the exam division, and questions that rely on obscure and unrelated assumptions which would never be on the actual exams. Many questions say "choose 4 that apply" and when you go to the solutions to review your answers, you find that there are only 3 correct solutions. These materials make it HARDER to study for the exam divisions because they have so many confusing and poorly worded practice questions. One of the Practice problem sections titled "Contracts" started with a question about the selection of an HVAC system for a given project. Unacceptable.These books are not worth the hundreds of dollars they're charging. It's clear the company rushed them to market to be the first study guide available for the new exam format but in doing so they published a horrible resource FULL of errors. This is unacceptable for the amount they charge and the statement that their books are "comprehensive" study materials.

Got this for my husband for him to study with. It's not the greatest. A lot of the practice questions contradict what the book teaches and he has been frustrated more than once. However, he has also passed his first two exams so it's not atrocious, just be forewarned. He's also been using other tutorials online and had success with those.

questions are not even close to exam questions.

The exam for practice management is terrible.

Only helpful for studying if you feel like looking up the exact section which disproves the answers in the Ballast practice exam wrong from the source material. They literally have a site for you to help them edit their product by reporting wrong answers - as if they couldn't hire an editor with the ridiculous prices they charge for study materials! only giving it one star because the frustration this caused me fueled a deep dive into the NCARB recommended study materials to verify that the practice exam was incorrect. Perhaps unsurprisingly reading the materials NCARB recommends is indeed helpful, so spend your $ on those instead.

PcM: contradicting information and oddly phrased questions.

Half of the questions are repeats from the 4.0 material. Glad I was able to get a copy cheap or I would have been very annoyed to have paid for the same material twice.

Not many questions per exam. One of the Programing and Analysis Case Studies says the project is in an R-4 zoning district and the zoning table only shows district R-1 through 3.......We'll see what else sucks. Might as well just find somebody's flash card set on Quizlet bc it has the same info in a better format.

Very informative cookbook. Great for a new Pellet Smoker owner. Teaches tips and techniques as well as great recipes. I am so glad I picked up this book.

This is a very good book for any one who is looking for the best ways to smoke most any thing, to eat, I would recommend this book.

With this book you will not only learn the basics, but you’ll have loads of other recipes and charts to smoke and grill just about anything. Charts even have cooking temps and times for unusual items such as cookies, nuts, cheese and game meats. Easy reference to left of each recipe for temps, times, and ingredients. This is a nice complement to Peter Jautaikis “The Wood Pellet and Grill Cookbook.” West doesn’t provide many pictures, which I prefer as a beginner, but the variety of recipes and charts makes this book a very worthwhile purchase.

I had always cooked over charcoal but I recently purchased a Pit Boss wood pellet cooker and was looking a cookbook to help me with what temperatures to cook certain foods at, different types of rubs and sauces that I could make, and how long to cook different types of food on the smoker. This book is perfect.It has an easy to use index and has everything divided into the particular types of food you will be cooking. Has the usuals you would expect, as well as different types that you wouldn’t. He lets you know the time, temperature, best type of wood to use to get the optimal flavor for the food you’re cooking, and detailed recipes to help your food come out great.The only knock on the book is it doesn’t have pictures of the food for the particular recipes. That’s not a big thing, but would have made this perfect to me if it did. Overall a great cookbook if you own a wood pellet smoker like myself and need some help with cooking times, temps, and different recipes to try. Highly recommend.

We gave this to a friend who needs to know how to use spices with his smoker. I am not sure if it will help him but I looked thru it and it looked great.

Absolute garbage. There are no good points to this book whatsoever. My apologies to the author but it is what it is.

I have never actually READ a design book, because you view a design not read about one. Anyway I have never read such a great preface in any design book or any other book for that matter. It was completely thoughtful and personal, yet uplifting and conscious of a portrayal that didn't come off as pretentious. Lets face it, he plugged in enough Oprah and words like 'upper-middle-class,' and 'east-coast,' to make anyone think he raised his brow, but he didn't really.While I'd have to say in terms of his aesthetic–while I am predisposed to an industrial style–totally appreciate the many layers and even history or stories he associates with his designs and objects. It becomes a great cohesion of personal and decorative, story-telling and story-making. It has more appeal for those who are contemporary inclined and want the look of a stylish house, but also for those looking to present their cherished objects in a more contemporary style.

I have some decorating experience beyond the basics. Nate shows you in this book how to put a personal stamp on your home. He also tells the story of how he got to where he is. It was and interesting, fun, heartwrenching, and most of all informative book. He tells the reader how to choose what you love and how to make it work. He gives tips on inexpensive ways to find what you want, how to display it, how to use what you have with a fresh approach. His tag line is "create a home that rises up to meet you at the end of the day" and he has done this with candor and wit. I read it in 3 days and will refer back to it again and again. Thank you Nate.

I think if you are a fan of Nate Berkus and have some knowlege of his personal experiences, you will enjoy this book. If you are looking for some step by step guide to decorating this won't necessarily appeal to you.I took to heart some of the anecdotes he shared and (for me) a couple of the stories were ones I could relate to. I have been in the midst of a home office/guest room redo and took to heart some of the messages that I got out of the book.I have (since having my own home) subscribed to the notion that your home should reflect who you are, be comfortable and welcoming to guests.If those concepts work for you, you are a fan of Mr. Berkus and have some of you own creativity and style you'd like to put into the decor of your own living space, you will love this book. If the above mentioned doesn't apply to you, it will be a great coffee table book, that perhaps your guests will enjoy and who knows it may spark a converstation or your desire to find your own self expression and creativity in your home.

My new favorite interior design book. This book is full of ideas. A previous reviewer did not think so, but I recommend a study of the photographs throughout this stylish book. Only an insensitive eye would miss the lessons contained in the photos. The text is equally wonderful and gives an insight into Nate's life and career. Highly recommended.

This book is lovely. Rather than being strictly about decor, Nate has injected personal stories. I think of this as an autobiographical decorating book. Nate's warmth and sincerity come through loud and clear. And his design style is clear, balanced and heartfelt.He understands the beauty of asymmetry in design and has an innate sense of how to use it. I enjoy this book so much that I sent one as a house warming gift to my son and his wife and they are in love with Nate and his book as well.

I love Nate Berkus and I love his work. This book is unlike any other I have read, in that it gives very personal narratives about the rooms that are featured -- some are those of celebrities, others those of persons I would never have known of. I spent hours poring over the pictures and reading the narratives.I spent the most time reading Nate's account of his experience in the tsunami and the tragic loss of his partner several years ago, his road to recovery, and the discovery of his new love. Also, the description of how their new apartment reconciled their 2 very different styles was very instructive. All the photos are wonderful.I've already given this book to several friends who are at changing places in their lives and want their homes to reflect it.

I wanted to try to find some creative ingenuity for my space or spaces but this book was so much more. Have been a fan since Nate’s Oprah days.Enjoyed this book alot. If you are or ever were a Nate Berkus fan your going to want to have this book!

1st, I'll say that if you're looking for tons of inspiration images or a guide to decorating, this is not the book for you. The format is much more autobiographical, chronicling Nate's own foray into from intern at Christie's to interior designer/business mogul/media personality extraordinaire. Unlike your average design book, Nate & his famous clients (hello adorable Dr. Ruth) share intimate stories and details behind the process of designing their homes and the elements that make each & every project different. It is a long read but very interesting & insightful. I highly recommend it!

I really like this author a lot. She tells a good and clean story. The book was a little too long. It could have been shortened about 50 pages. SPOILER ALERT- Not logical that a 4 year old can remember who she danced with at a wedding 2 years ago. Also, the story ended abruptly. The author should have elaborated on it a little more. An epilogue would have been nice. I do love her stories though.

Discovering Home, written by Carol Moncado, is the long awaited story of Jonathan! Ahh...Jonathan the one that dated royalty and never found the woman of his dreams! This is the story that I laughed, chuckled, teared up, and outright cried over! Moncado tipped the scales with this one!I have to say the beginning of the story was good, but a bit slower than I expected....but then it picked up and never stopped. So many emotions! Everyone that's read Moncado's books has wanted the story of Jonathan told...he's been like the guy that's been waiting for that special someone and guess what...we finally get to read it in Discovering Home!My favorite character--has to be Jonathan! Well, he's just that rich guy who has so much money it's sickening, yet is the kindest, gentlest man...but he's so not perfect. We know some of his past from the other books he's been in, but this story opens that to full-view. Several times I was pretty upset at the characters in this book of second chances. Jonathan and several other characters that we've come to know in Serenity Landing need second chances...and Moncado took the characters to the point that we see their needs and yet also see consequences of decisions and sometimes...even a second chance.Just loved the storyline and can't wait to see where Serenity Landing Second Chances series goes...because I'm definitely going to be waiting for the next one to come out!I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

If you are new to Carol Moncado's books, I suggest that you stop right now and go download “Good Enough for a Princess” (it's free) and start reading at the beginning. Otherwise a lot of what's going on in “Discovering Home” won't mean much to you.However, if you have been waiting in great anticipation, as I have, for Jonathan's story – it's here and ready to read! In great Moncado style, she's got a few of those epic plot twists in it to keep you on your toes. Some you may be able to figure out ahead of time, and some you probably won't. Suffice it to say, you won't be disappointed with this book, except that it ends. However, if you are a Moncado fan, you know that none of her plot lines ever end, and the things left hanging in this book will be resolved some time in a future book already percolating in her amazing brain.I really like the fact that favorite characters from previous books always show up in later ones, and you're able to keep checking up on them, just like they're old friends (which they are). I also like the fact that Carol takes things I've sometimes daydreamed about (for example, what would it be like to fall in love with someone rich and famous) and turns them into well-written stories with believable characters that are much more fun to read than when I daydreamed about them.

I like all of Carol Moncado's other books. I like the character of Jonathon in her other books. In this book, he gave too much and got too little in return. The character of his love interest was shallow and selfish. Everything seemed to come down to her previous hardships, making him apologize for every perceived wrong while she took no responsibility for her selfishness and showed no consideration for his feelings.

If you have read Carol Moncado's other works, you will enjoy reading this book. We finally get a happy ending for Jonathan! If you haven't read the Monarchies of Belles Montagnes Series (at least the first 3!), you can enjoy this book, but it will be so much better if you have read those.I gave it a 4 star because I thought parts were a bit slow, but it was still great. I do try to reserve my 5s for my MUST reads. This is solid, and enjoyable, but others by this author are more my speed.

This was such a great read! I fell in love with Carol Moncado's work with Good Enough for a Princess (go read that if you haven't!). The characters in these books have become like old friends. Jonathan's story was a long wait; but oh so worth it! I laughed, I cried a little, smiled and stayed up way too late reading. Somehow the story combines a bit of fantasy with characters who are real, raw and honest. They are not perfect people or "bad" who are suddenly "good." They have ups and downs along the way; but still leave you rooting for them! The ones from past stories have stayed with me and I can tell these will too!!

Jonathan finally gets his happily ever after! After anticipating this story for so long, I am happy to report that it did not disappoint. Jonathan William Langley-Cranston IV has been featured in several of Carol's previous novels, always as a loyal friend, second place love interest, and all-around good guy. In this novel, he finally meets the woman he will come to love: a determined single mom, MacKenzie Davidson. Kenzie and her adorable daughter Lorelai are great, well-developed characters as well, and it is truly a joy to watch them become a family. Well done, Carol Moncado. I can't wait to see what happens with all of our old "friends" in the future. Keep writing, Carol. I just can't get enough! (Although I received an advanced copy for review, I happily bought a copy as well, and my opinions are honest ones.)

Those of us who have followed Carol's royals series have seen glimpses of Jonathon here and there. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has waited for the rest of his story. And it was indeed worth the wait. It was every bit as romantic and heartwarming as I had hoped, and knew, it would be. Carol has a way with characters and settings that you will fall in love with quickly if you like characters you can root for, and descriptions that take you right into the midst of the story. She has long since become one of my fsvorite authors and I always greatly anticipate the next one. Thanks again for a great story, Carol!
