Beautiful pics

I was disappointed by the thin paper. You can only color one side of each page if you use water color pens. The bleed through is very significant.I have several Dover coloring books produced in the 70's, they are all on heavy watercolor paper and have zero bleed through.That is what I hoped to get, but didn't.

I should have learned my lesson about the Dover Coloring Books, but I forgot that it was THAT brand that does the double-sided printing of all their pages, thus rendering it impossible for me to color with markers, as is my preference. It's not that I don't like the pictures, I have a few Dover books I bought a few months ago that I haven't been able to do anything with, because they're double-sided.In addition, I found this book rather carelessly put together. It lists the birds, but sometimes uses sloppy names such as "Cardinal" instead of "Northern Cardinal" or "Goldfinch" and you have to assume they're referring to "American Goldfinch." In addition, the bird ranges they give are laughable. They should have just left that info off. It doesn't add anything to coloring, and is just wrong. As a birder, this annoys me quite a lot.The pictures themselves are just OK, as far as detail provided, and inspiration building.

I bought this coloring book a few years ago and loved it. Now, the outling and shading ink added ruined it. IT IS A COLORING BOOK. IF YOU EDITORS NEED A HOBBY THERE ARE PLENTY AROUND. WE LIKE TO DO OUR OWN SHADOWS AND SHADING, BUT YOU HAVE MARKED IT UP WITH WIDE AND DARK BLACK IT. CUT IT OUT.

You'll love this book. For each page you are given the birds name, height and areas where they are found. While there aren't color pictures supplied, we can just do a search or look in any bird book you have laying around. Not only is it nice for coloring, it's educational as well.

Dover really makes the best coloring books for the price. I just can't do those mindless books of patterns they sell in the hobby stores. I like to have something to show for my time, a bird, a mountain, a river, a tree whatever. As long as has some meaning. With the Dover books you get a little information on each subject a lot more educational and productive than just patterns.

I like the pictures but being two-sided means I have to take the book apart and make copies of the other side as I use ink markers that bleed through. Also, this book had a few wrinkled pages that must be a QC challenge with the manufacturing process using poor quality paper or damaged paper that is not noticed - not nice.

Exactly as described. It's for adults so I'm glad there are no ages printed on it. Because it's so realistic, it may be better for artists or those with access to a variety of coloring tools. But even crayons are ok.

Great book for my older mother who enjoys spending her time coloring these beautiful illustrations. Many interesting facts as well, in the book, about the birds. Good quality book, also. Would be great for kids and older people alike.
