If you are interested in clock making, this is the place to start. I own several Workshop Practice Series books, and each of them does an excellent job of educating the reader in their subject. This book is no exception.The book covers the entire subject of clock making in good detail, and explains all of the basic mechanisms involved. By basic I mean just the parts that are essential to make a clock work. There is no coverage of hour chimes, alarms, or other complications, as they are called. The clocks covered are metal, not wood, although the theory applies.Photos are black and white, but the figures are very easy to read. I would prefer color photos, but that's just aesthetics, as the book is very readable.

Explains the basics of clocks and how to approach making one. A good book to read before getting started. You don't actually make a clock from this book. This is about how a clock works and the process of making one -- the tools required and skills. At the end the author points you toward several available kits and plans for actual clocks to build.

Workshop practice series are all good books. None of them are very expensive, and I'm an engineer but these are written for the dude who doesn't want to think about things but actually wants to build things. ..... Seems to be a British influence in the books, but the Britts/ Scots are good engineers and actually probably better engineers than the famed Germans or Japanese ...and they print in English:) I recommend this whole series.

I have no intention of making a clock - and indeed anyone so interested would need both tools and perhaps more detail, but as an introduction of what goes into clock-making, this is both fascinating and informative. Highly recommended to any like myself with a fascination for clocks!

This book is written by a woman who had been diagnosed ASD and she's extremely well versed on explaining everything too help you understand. So a huge THANK YOU to Jennifer McIlwee Meyers. This book has helped me so much. I will be forever grateful.

EVERYONE who is raising or working with children on the spectum should read this book I am a clinical psychologist who works with children on the autism spectum. I have him highly suggested it to every one of my families. Jennifer Mcilwee Myers has written about one of the most important topics I can possibly think of with this population. It is a guide to how to approach raising a child on he spectrum and hits all of the most important topics. Thank you Temple Grandin for insisting that she write this. I look forward to reading more by this author. (And no I am not being paid to write this)

Some good advice from someone with first hand experience but a bit repetitive and much of the advice is obvious. In some ways that's reassuring but when you have a child diagnosed with ASD you want to get to the heart of the matter as quickly as possible so that you can begin to improve your approach and no time to waste in getting there. I don't feel that this book has given me much more than I already knew in the way of helping my child. Just my opinion but because her views and experiences are not fully limited but nearly all about her and her family's experiences, it does seem more autobiographical and less based on large sample than I'd prefer.

This book is filled with things that I never would have thought of, and the material is presented in such an easy-to-read style that I breezed through it. It's lighthearted and funny, and I appreciated seeing life from the perspective of someone with Asperger's. The book gave me new insight into our son, and having that perspective has helped me a tremendous amount, allowing me to be a better parent and advocate for our little boy.

Our daughter was diagnosed on the spectrum as a Freshman in High School this is geared for those with younger kids.

It is probably good advice for kids, but I was hoping for some insights into young adults as well. I didn't find it useful for that.

Really well written and very practical. Thank you for an excellent book. I have had to coach many a teacher and aid because they clearly do not understand autism. I think in the future I will just buy them this book. LOL

I like this book but-- I expected more instant recipes about a third of this book is slow cooking and doesn't help me at all. I have many slow cooker recipes and I didn't expect so many in this book. The recipes are good but not what I expected.

This cookbook is nothing at all what I thought it would be. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason how it’s put together and I found the recipes extremely complex with some ingredients I’ve never even heard of. I would return this book if it didn’t cost half the value to do so, therefore I will put it on as shelf to collect dust. Very disappointed with this item,

the hard cover might be good but the kindel version is a pain getting around

Many, many recipes are really just Slow Cooker recipes included because many instapots have that feature. All of the recipes I was first interested in making were based on Crock pots, and I did not get an instapot to cook food for 8 hours.

Returning to Cleveland for a visit a month ago, and the grandson told me we HAVE to go hiking. So I ordered this book prior. Busy schedule only allowed us to get in one, but we picked Chapin Forest, and we were the only ones on the trails for hours. I like both the park hikes and the city hikes, very well done. I'll be sure to use more of the suggested hikes on my next visit.

I enjoyed the book a lot and I'm sure I'll reference it a lot during our lean transformation. Mirco does an excellent job of providing context for the tools and principles in DevOps. Being a long time practitioner of Lean his approach makes a lot of sense. I appreciated the analogy of traditional IT being aligned with Henry Ford's era of manufacturing. However, I wish he would have given more credit to manufacturing for the development of Lean principles.

This is a truly practical companion book to the other leading publications in the DevOps space. Mirco shares real-world lessons from many years of collective experience and provides tried and tested exercises for you to use to help drive insights and improvements in your organization.

Micro has written this book like a gripping novel, providing fact after fact in a concise manner such that you don’t want to put it down. If you want to know what good DevOps looks like then buy this book.
